Jamaica Missions 2007 Details

If you missed our meeting on Wednesday, September 5th, we released most of the details of our Jamaica Missions Trip 2007. Here is some of what you missed out on:

1. There is an application - This MUST (along with a $100 non-refundable deposit) be turned in before Monday, September 10th, 2007
2. The cost of the trip will be $1,250 - This includes airfare, lodging, food and all transportation, and also includes some money for materials needed for building products bought in Jamaica
3. The dates of the trip are November 19 - 27, 2007 and we will be flying Air Jamaica from Baltimore, MD to Montego Bay, Jamaica
4. You will need to start raising funds immediately - All funds are expected to be in by October 2nd
5. There will be two more following MANDATORY meetings for EVERYONE who wants to go. They will be on Tuesday, October 2nd and Tuesday, November 13th at 7 p.m.
   
6. You will need a passport to travel to Jamaica. If you do not have a passport, you may still get one if you apply for it immediately and expedite it. To expedite the passport, and that will set you back and extra 60 or so dollars. You may apply for them at a post office (Georgetown, Seaford, or Salisbury).
   
7. Our work and ministry will be with Teen Challenge in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We will be working on the TCJ building and doing ministry with the students of the program. We will also be working on some of the small homes located around the TCJ facility. We will conclude the week with an outreach banquet and street meeting
8. We are looking for businesses to help us as corporate sponsors. Corporate sponsors who support us will have their logo, or name on the back of our team t-shirts!

Get Serious!

Alright guys, it is really getting close 3 months to go! If you are even considering going, you have to really get serious and start thinking about how to raise funds, if you have a passport, if you can get off work. It take much more than just saying yeah I'll go. So time is getting close if you are at all interested please speak to Tim or Rusty Dukes. The Time is Nearing!

Coming up this year again is our Jamaica Missions trip! We leave the Monday before Thanksgiving and leave to come home the Tuesday afterwards. You may think that going to Jamaica over Thanksgiving is dumb in order to leave your family, but we promise you the most life changing Thanksgiving you have ever had. The dates set for this trip are November 19 - 27. This year we are planning bigger and better things, but as we learned last year you cannot plan for big things to happen, you can only go knowing that God has plans already in store that we cannot even see yet. If you do plan on going this year it is required that all air travelers must have a passport to leave the country. The passports do take a couple months to process, so please get going on that! You may pick up an application for a passport at your local post office. This year we are looking for anyone to go who not only can work, but anyone who can be bold and minister to those who desperately need what we take for granted. We are planning to minimize our work at the Teen Challenge location, and focus on reaching the people outside of the walls of Teen Challenge. We will still need experienced carpenters and painters, but we really are excited about reaching out to the neighbors of Teen Challenge.

So get your passports in the work (they are good for ten years once you get one), and we hope to see or hear from you soon!
